Sheetal Art

About

One woman, one workbench, every piece by hand.

Sheetal Art Jewellery is the work of Sheetal Chincholkar — an artisan in Solapur, Maharashtra, who designs, beads, sets, and finishes every piece herself.

The story

The shop is a small one. A single room on Hotagi Road, opposite the line of tea stalls near Sawaskar Hospital. There's a glass case full of beads along the wall, a workbench by the window for the better light, and Sheetal at the bench almost every day from late morning until the evening.

What started as making earrings for friends turned into a small business in 2015, then into a full-time studio and shop. The work is unfussy: no mass-production, no machine settings, no factories anywhere in the chain. If you buy a pair of earrings here, Sheetal made those earrings — usually on the bench you can see when you walk in.

The pieces lean traditional but with a softer, modern hand. Beadwork, oxidised silver finishes, kundan and pearl detailing, with a careful sense for what looks right in real light, on real necks. Bridal sets get the most care; a single set can take a fortnight from sketch to clasp.

For weddings, festival days, and shoots when you don't want to buy a one-off statement piece, you can rent — bridal sets and statement necklaces, picked up in person or shipped, with a refundable deposit.

And if nothing in the shop is exactly what you have in mind: pick the colours, send a photo of the outfit, and Sheetal will make it for you. Custom orders usually finish in a few days.
